Eventually
your carefully constructed bouquet
wilts and crumbles
exposing blackened brambles
and the vicious thorns
lying beneath
wishes hurled in haste
reserved for the worst of enemies
land on distanced brothers
murdering siblings with
tattoos removed
covered and destroyed
leaving you both
the only son
in a sea of sisters
your epitaph cracked
revealing your would-be legacy
to be nothing more now
that the truth of what
it really is
