>Rabbit Drabble: Tomorrow, Wendy

26 Oct

He found that in the end it didn’t really matter.  Pouring through the pages, he was astounded but not really surprised.  Thirty some odd years of bullshit – but at least it all made sense.  He could leave without guilt; walk away without obligation.

The letters explaining his absence crackled in the fire.  He owed them nothing.  He paused a moment as it all turned to ash and nonexistance, just like everything else.  Before leaving, he flushed the pills.  They swirled in a cacophony of failed hope and never endings.  That wasn’t the rainbow he ever wanted to taste anyway.

    >Yes! Please keep writing them. You are unlike any other writer I have ever known. You have such a unique voice that if I read your work 10 years from now, without your name on it, I would still know it was you. – G

    >Here's me quoting you back the words from you: "That wasn't the rainbow he ever wanted to taste anyway." Stunned silence.

    >You are so damn good at these things! Not only in style and substance, but in how well you write. I really should have paid more attention in English class. Hell, I should have actually attended once in a while.
